Estate owner Jose Bento dos Santos, who is also Vice-Chairman of the International Academy of Gastronomy, aims to develop top quality wines with style and elegance, taking into account the unique association of soil and climate at the Quinta. The wines carry the Quinta’s identity, being very personalized, deep and complex wines shining with enticing minerality. Their unique robust character is a harmonious match with the gastronomy of both classical and haute cuisine.
To achieve this objective, strict guidelines and procedures are followed during the whole production process, under the consultancy of pervious head winemaker of the renowned Maison M. Chapoutier in France’s Rhone Valley, Gregory Viennois: the vineyards are ‘manicured’ with severe pruning to achieve production in small quantities with very low yields and thus highly concentrated fruits.
As Jose summarises it all in this quote, “The wines are imagined and designed respecting the personality of the terroir. Each wine, thus, has its own identity, always hiding a story, a culture, a legacy, and a dream.”
